2015 Lamborghini Cabrera

2015 Lamborghini Cabrera: The Lamborghini Cabrera displays a slightly wider and lower look than the Gallardo, falling in line with the larger and more expensive Aventador. The headlights have an interesting triangular light pattern, and the lower air intakes and front splitter give the car a mean stance. Along the sides, the rakish profile transitions into huge air intakes just before the rear fenders. We can’t see much of the taillight design, but the overall shape looks to be a narrow, wide strip across the width of the car.

Like the big brother Aventador, the Lamborghini Cabrera has a louvered rear backlight which helps with aerodynamics but should no doubt limit rear visibility. Practical concerns are not important in a car like the Lamborghini Cabrera, though, as this upcoming supercar will feature even more performance potential than the Gallardo with its new, lighter aluminum-and-carbon-fiber spaceframe that will be shared with the next-generation Audi R8. We expect that the Gallardo’s 5.2-liter V-10 will stick around in the Cabrera, albeit with a few updates that should make for close to 600 horsepower. Source

Third Tesla Model S Fire

Third Tesla Model S Fire: As a point of reference, the first fire happened approximately five weeks ago after a Model S “collided with a large metallic object in the middle of the road“ which then “impaled the battery pack with 25 tons of force.” The Tesla then caught fire after the owner safely exited his car. The second fire occurred after an inebriated driver “lost control and crashed into the lining of the gazeb” causing the vehicle to bounce, jump a curb and ”demolished a part of the electrified fence” before ”crashing into a tree. “  In that case, the Model S immediately caught fire.

In both of these initial incidents, the end result being a fire was not an unexpected result given the situations. While this situation doesn’t seem as dire as jumping onto an electrical fence, the driver Juris Shibayama, 38, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee (according to Highway Patrol) did indicate that there was an accident/incident of some sort that could have cost  life. 2015 MINI Cooper S

2015 MINI Cooper S Five-Door: The third generation of the modern MINI Cooper is set for a reveal next week and will eventually spawn a new five-door variant that is expected to reach showrooms in late 2014, making it a 2015 model. These are our latest spy shots of a prototype for this more family friendly MINI. On initial glance the prototype looks similar to previous mules for the regular MINI Cooper three-door, but it clearly features four doors and what looks to be a conventional rear hatch--making this a five-door. Center-mounted exhaust tips also confirm that this is the slightly sportier Cooper S version of the new MINI five-door.

To accommodate the extra doors, MINI’s designers have stretched the wheelbase. It also appears they’ve raised the height of the roof in order to maximize interior space. We’ve previously reported on the five-door MINI Cooper, which is likely to replace the suicide-door-equipped Clubman. It’s not clear whether this model will pick up the Clubman name or be called something entirely else. MINI has confirmed that its new Cooper will launch with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine delivering approximately 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque (169 pound-feet with overboost function) in the base model, while a 2.0-liter four-cylinder will offer 189 horsepower and 206 pound-feet of torque (221 pound-feet with overboost) in the Cooper S. 2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI

2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI: 2015 Volkswagen Golf is lighter, bigger, safer, and more fuel efficient than the version it replaces. All three versions of the new golf, the entry-level 1.4-liter gasoline engine, the 2.0-liter TDI clean diesel, and the GTI, will be on display and will be ready for sale during the first half of 2014. Also, the Golf will be the first Volkswagen vehicle to use the company’s new “MQB” components matrix that offers new safety features and technology, including collision avoidance, lane departure systems, and updated infotainment options.

Coming standard for the first time on a Volkswagen is the multi-collision brake system, along with a proactive passenger protection system. Designers of the Golf have given the vehicle a new edge, with the goal of making it more independent, sophisticated, and durable than other compact cars. The front wheels have been moved 43 millimeters forward, making the front look shorter. Along with these changes, the 2015 Volkswagen Golf has maintained its signature design features. After seven generations, the Golf remains as one of Volkswagen’s top vehicles. Source

2014 Lamborghini Cabrera

2014 Lamborghini Cabrera: All good things must come to an end, so the Gallardo is packing things up and moving out of Lamborghini’s top spot to make room for a brand new baby. The Italian brand has yet to confirm the name of the future supercar, but convincing data is calling it the Cabrera, a likely possibility considering the Cabrera is the name of a famous Spanish fighting bull. The new Cabrera is expected to make its debut in 2013 and should follow the same evolutionary path as the Aventador , meaning fiercer lines and a more powerful engine.

The future Cabrera will be made from a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque, the same used on the new Aventador. This will decrease the weight of the future supercar making it easier for the supercharged V10 the Cabrera will feature. This V10 engine is the same one found in the Gallardo, but it has been given a supercharger to crank the 552 HP up to 600 HP. With the task of taking on Ferrari Ferrari ’s current 458 Italia, the Lamborghini Cabrera will surely need the 600 powerful bulls charging under the hood. Four wheel drive is also still being considered. Article source Source

2015 Porsche 911 GT2: Like the previous 911 GT2, the new model will feature a similar spec to the contemporary 911 Turbo, the new 2014 911 Turbo, but to separate the two the 911 GT2 will stick to rear-wheel drive and have a higher output. 2015 Bugatti Veyron

2015 Bugatti Veyron: The next Veyron model will top out at 270 mph (434.52 km/h) - at the very peak of the record top speed set by the current Veyron Super Sport. But the next Veyron will look different and will take some inspiration from the original Veyron concept by Walter de Silva, now head of design at VW Group, from way back in 1999. That design was never revealed to the public, with another Veyron concept by Hartmut Warkuss, the 18/4, beating it to the punch at the 1999 Tokyo motor show.

The car pictured here is a design study by Canadian John Mark Vicente called the Bugatti Renaissance, posited as a Veyron successor. Powering the next Veyron will still be the 8.0 liter W16 engine laden with four turbochargers coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Output will also likely be similar to the current Super Sport - 1,200 bhp (895 kW / 1217 PS) and 1,500 Nm of torque. The new Veyron will have a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of around 2.5 seconds and slightly inch past the Super Sport's performance numbers by means of weight-saving measures. Source

2015 Lamborghini Aventador SV

2015 Lamborghini Aventador SV: The Lamborghini Aventador was already a very fast car when it was launched. Its 6.5-liter V12 engine producing 700 PS, it was a cut above even the most powerful version of the V12 car that came before it. The V12 car we're talking about is the LP670-4 SuperVeloce, or SV for short. It arrived in 2009 with 30 more horsepower than your standard Murcielago and as a result of its lightweight construction could blitz the track at a much faster pace. The Aventador wants to do some blitzing of its own, and so the Italian engineers recently arrived at the Nurburgring with this interesting prototype.

At first glance, it looks like your "average" yellow supercar, but it could be the testbed for the next SuperVeloce. The first clue is that the wheels are race-oriented central lockers wrapped in semi-slick rubber. It's also got new aero bits attached to the front bumper and a piece of metal attached to the middle of the rear wing. The changes are so small that we actually didn't notice them the first time we saw the car go round the Nurburgring a couple of days ago. It was aggressively targeting the famous Karussell, scraping its underside in some place. What seemed to be a rich person not caring is actually a time attack attempt to see how good the Aventador SV is compared to the regular car. Source
