2012 Mazda RX-9

Mazda  produced the RX-7 from 1978 to 2002 and, compared to the RX-8, it did very well. Now, after almost ten years, the Japanese company will bring back the RX-7 DNA with the launch of a new sports car called the RX-9. And, however chronologically deficient it may be, the RX-9 is being made as a successor to the RX-7 and not the RX-8. We should be seeing this new model hit the streets as soon as the RX-8 bids adieu to the market.

The RX-9 is rumored to be built in the image of the most recent RX-7, the highly regarded version championed by the legendary "Koby" Kobayakawa, which went out of production in 2002. And, unlike the RX-8, it will be a two-door coupe model and not a complicated four-door coupe. Under the hood, Mazda will place the now famous 16X rotary engine. The new sports car will be built on an MX-5 chassis and will weigh no more than 1250 kilos, with a design language stemming from the company’s latest concept cars, including the Shinari which made its debut only two months ago.

2011 Honda CR Z type R

The article brings up another issue that Honda is covering up the performance of the CR-Z. Apparently the car’s 0-62 mph time of 9.7 seconds and mileage of 36/38 mpg, numbers leaked from an early production catalog, are being covered up by Honda for not being either fast (about the same as the Prius) or economical (the Prius gets 51/48)

Tomobe would also like to make a Type-R version of the CR-Z by reducing the weight of the car. This is hinted at later in the article that some serious weight reduction could occur by using a lighter version of the motor and inverter and installing fewer, but more efficient, batteries.

2013 Chevrolet Camaro

2013 Chevrolet Camaro V6 gets more power, and a convertible version could come later this model year. GM pony cars iconic coupe 2 doors. A 2-door convertible is scheduled to arrive on time in early 2013. Camaro body style is inspired by the 1969 model -. LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, 2SS back and trim levels. Two engines are available with a V6 and a V8. V6 is a 3.6-liter engine that produces 312 horsepower, an increase of eight from a 2010 model. It is available in LS and LT.

The V8 SS is used, which has seen few changes for 2013. SS versions with a manual transmission get a 426-horsepower 6.2-liter V8. Automatic-equipped SS models also get a 6.2-liter V8 engine, but has 400 horsepower and fuel management features GM’s cylinder deactivation assets. V6 models also offer manual or automatic transmission. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, traction control, front airbags, side airbags and side curtain airbags.

2013 BMW 3-Series Spy

Spy shots of the upcoming BMW 3-series have been making its way around.  It is still hard to tell what changes we will see in the newest version with all that camouflage.  From the looks of the current spy images, BMW has not strayed far from what has been working for them.  Sometimes the subtle changes are more dramatic.  Check out the spied photos and earlier released renderings after the jump.
